Directions to Lac Suzie from Albany, NY

Directions to Lac Suzie from Syracuse, NY

       

Directions to Lac Suzie from Albany, NY:

Take Rt 87 North until the Canadian border, which will be Champlain.

You must register your guns at the American Customs (which they may need to see) and you may have to register your 4-wheelers and trailer, just inquire. There is no charge for this.

Canadian Customs - This is where you pay your $25.00 (Canadian) fee for up to 3 guns. You can pay in American money, but we don't know what the exchange rate will be. They may need to see your guns and ammo. Keep your guns and ammo separate, not in the same case. Do not take your guns into the check station. If they need to see them, they will come out.

When you leave Customs, take Rt 15 North to Port Champlain bridge, which will go off to the left. Cross the bridge and continue on 15 North heading towards Saint-Jerome.

15 North will turn into 117 north, continue on 117 North heading towards Mont-Laurier. There is a good motel in Mont-Laurier. The pnone number is (819) 623-2400 or 1-800-943-0024. There are also some good places to eat.

Continue North on 117 and you will come to Grand-Remous. Go 11 miles further on 117 North and you will see the LeClassic Motel/Gas Station on your left. Make sure that your gas tanks are full as this is the last place to get gas before getting to camp.

Continue going North on 117 - about 63 miles, around the 378 KM marker and you will come to a pull off rest area on each side of 117. Go just past the rest area and you will see Rt or JCT 29 to the right - this will be a dirt road. Turn right; go past the blue 135 KM sign, there will be a Lac Suzie sign on the left. Keep going straight.

Bear to the left at the Blue 167 KM sign.

Go to the Blue 185 KM sign and Turn Left.

After you turn left, you will go by Blue 194 KM which is the Zec House. You will bear to the right at Blue 241 KM sign.

Go past the Blue 242 KM sign and bear to the left. Keep going until you see the White 257 KM sign then White 11 KM sign and bear to the left. You will have a Green 219 KM sign on the left. Continue on until Green 209 KM sign. There will be two of them. One before the stop sign and one after the stop. Go to the right.

Just past the Green 214 KM sign you will turn left this will take you to the main camp. The office is the last trailer on the left at main camp.

Directions to Lac Suzie from Syracuse, NY:

Go 67 miles North on Rt 81 and get off at exit 48.

Turn right and go to the first light, wgich will be Route 37.

Turn left onto Route 37 North and go 58 miles to Ogdensburg, NY.

Turn left off Route 37 onto Route 812 to go over the bridge to Canada. Before going over the bridge in Ogdensburg, you must register your guns (which they may need to see) and you may have to register your 4-wheelers and trailer, just inquire. There is no charge for this.

Once you are over the bridge, you will be at Canadian Customs. This is where you pay your $25.00 (Canadian) fee for up to 3 guns. When you leave Ogdensburg Customs, you will see Rt 416 North towards Ottawa. Go 48 miles on Rt 416 North to the intersection of 416 North and 417 East (417 is also the Queensway).

Go 9 miles East on 417 and get off at exit 118. Stay to your left and you will go back over 417. This will become Nicholas Street. You will see signs Hull - Maniwaki - Route 5.

Go a few blocks and you will bear to the right onto Waller Street. Proceed to Rideau Street and turn right. Go 2 blocks and turn left onto King Edwards Ave. Go a few blocks and take 5 North, which will go off to your left. You will be heading towards Maniwaki, which is about 80 miles away.

Then you will go over the river and stay on 5 North towards Maniwaki. It will be a 4 lane highway. Go to the end of 5 North and turn right and proceed to the light and turn left onto 105 North.

Stay on 105 North to Maniwaki. This is where the motels, restaurants, stores and gas stations are.

Keep going on 105 North from Maniwaki. Go 18 miles to Grand-Remous. This will be the intersection of 105 and 117. Turn left onto 117 North.

Go 11 miles further on 117 North and you will see the LeClassic Motel/Gas Station on your left. Make sure that your gas tanks are full as this is the last place to get gas before getting to camp.

Go past the Blue 242 KM sign and bear to the left. Keep going until you see the White 257 KM sign then White 11 KM sign and bear to the left. You will have a Green 219 KM sign on the left. Continue on until Green 209 KM sign. There will be two of them. One before the stop sign and one after the stop. Go to the right.

Just past the Green 214 KM sign you will turn left this will take you to the main camp. The office is the last trailer on the left at main camp.
